Each device undergoes a thorough inspection of all key functions before being offered for sale. For full transparency, you can download the official testing results as a PDF and see exactly how our team assessed the device.

Why are batteries replaced and what does that mean for my iPhone?

We replace a battery when it no longer meets our quality standards. The device will continue to perform as you would expect from a properly functioning iPhone. In addition, the battery health will still be displayed in settings, and you won’t see an unknown part message.

Are all iPhones iCloud-free and fully unlocked?

All devices are completely iCloud-free and carrier unlocked. You can sign in with your own iCloud account and use the device with any carrier.

Will I notice a difference between a refurbished iPhone and a new one?

No, in everyday use, a refurbished iPhone functions just like a new one. The only real difference is the price.

Is my purchase covered by a warranty?

Phoney offers a 12-month warranty on all devices. Our warranty covers technical defects and hardware issues that arise during normal use. Damage caused by drops, moisture, misuse, or third-party repairs is not covered under warranty.

Does a refurbished iPhone retain its water resistance?

While some devices retain their original water resistance, we cannot guarantee the original IP68 rating. Scrolling in the shower is therefore not recommended.
